Outward Bound Instructional Positions
Instructors – responsible for the safe and effective delivery of Outward Bound courses and programs. Instructors play various important roles with our students – teachers, leaders, counselors, role models, & friends.
Applicants must be adept at leading wilderness and urban expeditions. They must also be able to help students draw valuable lessons from their experiences, using them as tools to develop skills to succeed in school, work, and life. Proficiency is required in teaching and communicating with students of diverse backgrounds and needs. We value varied life experiences and individuals committed to making positive changes in public education.
Outward Bound courses are physically and mentally demanding. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, in excellent health and physical condition. Successful candidates will possess teaching experience, either in or outside of the classroom; strong facilitation and interpersonal skills; a commitment to community and service; and experience or a strong interest in wilderness and urban expeditions.
