- I can give and receive feedback
CLIENT SPOTLIGHT: GREATER RIDGE YOUTH COUNCIL, QUEENS
- “The goal is to have at least one person from each of our after school program trained to start the New Year. At some point we would like to add more adventure training to our curriculum so that we can expand on the adventure education service we are hoping to have at each site.”
- How does this program fit into the larger goal for your groups?
This program would fit into the our new program design that we are hoping to implement, which is to offer each of our elementary and middle school student be involved with adventure education. Through our adventure education design we want to help each student to develop self-esteem, develop life skills and to teach our student how to overcome challenges that they may face in their life. - These teachers were selected because
They are the instructors in our program that work with the children in our program on a daily basis during recreation time. We felt they are all best suited to carry out the type of program that we would like to implement. - Specific activities or outcomes to focus on during the program
Low organizational games, games that can be done in an indoor setting. We would like the instructors to know how they can best implement the activities that they will learn, we would like for them to learn how important adventure education can be for young students. Most importantly we would like for them to learn the other aspects of adventure education that can be done after this training over, so they have something to look forward to if we should do
more advance training in the future.
