Simple & Complex Machines: Developed by Marsh Avenue Expeditionary Learning School

Marsh Avenue Expeditionary Learning students study the physics of kinetic and potential energy by looking at the construction of simple and complex machines. They are guided by some central questions, such as:  What are the uses of simple and complex machines in our daily lives? How can we use energy to make our own machines? Part of the expedition includes students constructing their own small-scale amusement park, with students groups taking responsibility for the construct of their own rides. In addition, students also make several trips to the Science Museum to study the construction of machines and the uses of energy.
