The James Baldwin School offers in-depth study of academic subjects, field research and the sharing of meaningful work with public audiences, all of which results in students achieving at higher academic levels than they ever thought possible. The James Baldwin School has received a Regents waiver, and students are assessed annually through Performance-Based Assessments (PBATs). Starting in the 9th grade, students receive personalized college advising and take part in a college visitation program.  Students are offered free Stanley Kaplan SAT preparation classes and can take college courses at such institutions as NYU and Hunter College.
