Adventure & Fitness
The James Baldwin School believes that adventure and fitness are essential to study and discovery. As an NYC Outward Bound network school, the James Baldwin School provides adventure, fitness and nutrition opportunities for students and faculty alike. All first-year students and faculty participate in a five-day NYC Outward Bound backpacking course, which teaches communication skills, problem-solving, goal-setting, and community building. Students also have the opportunity to participate on athletic teams such as baseball, basketball and volleyball, and in our intensive yoga program.
"It is your responsibility to change society if you think of yourself as an educated person.”
