What is Crew Orientation?

All first-year students are sent on a 5-day, overnight NYC Outward Bound backpacking expedition in upstate New York. The trip helps new students develop community, trust, communication skills, and the determination to do far more than they ever thought possible. This video will give you a taste of what crew orientation is like and what it accomplishes. It was shot on location during a crew orientation trip by our sister NYC Outward Bound school, the Gaynor McCown Expeditionary Learning School, which is located in Staten Island.
