Our Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (WHEELS) continues to spread best practices across the Expeditionary Learning network. WHEELS is hosting a national site seminar that delves deep into the practice of Student-Led Conferences, dissects the process of “scaling up” a school, & highlights classroom structures like shared teacher practices, workshop model lessons, and student-engagement.
12th graders at our Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies are learning about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, exploring the question of “When, if ever, should our rights be limited in the name of national security?” They have been invited to lobby Congress on whether or not to re-authorize the Patriot Act.
