Senior Luis Hernandez of our Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies will serve as this year’s Master of Ceremonies at our Annual Gala, headlining an evening that will be entirely student-led and which will honor Governor Andrew Cuomo and Capital One Bank. Hernandez has earned a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to the University of Southern California, is a Posse Scholar, and is one of five inaugural recipients of the Bryan Cave LLP Edward I. Koch Scholarship.
This year, 70% of schools in our network received an A on their most recent NYC Department of Education Progress Reports, compared to 28% of schools citywide. Our graduation rates outpaced the City average by 11%, and 93% of our graduates were accepted to college – with a number of our schools achieving 100% college acceptance rates. Our schools’ college enrollment rates are equally encouraging, with the most recent Progress Reports showing that as a network we are outperforming 98% of the City’s schools.
