Our Long-Time Partners
NYC Outward Bound Schools has deep and long-standing partnerships with 14 public schools — former “Network Schools” — many of which we helped to open. Over the years, these schools have served as models of educational excellence and equity. They’ve operated as testing grounds for new approaches and ideas, allowing innovation to take root from within the NYC school system.
Each one of these schools are co-creators in the work we do today around Instruction for Deeper Learning, Crew and Outdoor Adventure. They are school communities that center student belonging, give students opportunities to engage with work that matters to them, and ensure they have a postsecondary plan.
In fact, this group of schools annually outpaces city graduation rates by 10+ percentage points.
