Indoor Crew Climbing

Students can continue to rock climb indoors throughout the winter months thanks to our local partners at Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge. Rather than using NYC Outward Bound’s outdoor climbing wall, Crews of students meet at the Brooklyn Boulders indoor gym to learn safety protocols, how to belay, and of course, climbing techniques. This is a great opportunity for students to hone their climbing skills, challenge themselves to reach new heights, and become closer as a Crew.

We encourage schools to book a full day of programming with us (5 hours of climbing and community building for one group, or 2.5 hours of climbing for two groups) to maximize their time. We always ensure that there are appropriate instructor-to-student ratios.

This program is best experienced in small groups, teams, or within the Crew structure — NYC Outward Bound Schools’ signature advisory structure, typically comprised of 8-16 students and an adult advisor.
