A nonprofit leader dedicated to expanding opportunity and amplifying the voices of students and educators.

NYC Outward Bound Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Brooke Connolly as our new Vice President of Advancement & Communications. Brooke is a seasoned development leader with more than 20 years of experience driving integrated fundraising and communications strategies. She brings a proven track record of growing revenue streams across major gifts, corporate and foundation partnerships, events, and annual giving. Most recently, Brooke served as Senior Director of Philanthropy at Year Up, where she led a five-person team responsible for raising $5 million annually and stewarding more than 250 major donors.

Previously, Brooke held senior roles at KIPP NYC, Free Arts NYC, and Achievement First, where she built robust donor engagement programs, strengthened corporate and foundation partnerships, and oversaw large-scale fundraising events and communications campaigns to fulfill philanthropic operating needs ranging from $2-15M annually.  A trained social scientist, Brooke spent her early career as an educational researcher and program evaluator of national, state, and local initiatives.

Brooke is deeply committed to equity, collaboration, and storytelling that lifts up the power of public education and young people. Her leadership will play a key role in strengthening our ability to share the impact of our work with students, educators, families, and partners across New York City.

Please join us in welcoming Brooke to the NYC Outward Bound Schools community. We are thrilled to have her on board as we continue to expand our reach and deepen our impact in schools across the city.
