NYC Outward Bound Schools is closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak, and continues to prioritize the health and well being of our students and staff. We are following recommendations from the CDC, the NYC Department of Health and the NYC Department of Education, which at this time has closed NYC public schools for the remainder of the school year.
Schools are now utilizing a Remote Learning Model. We are working with our school partners to help them develop Remote Learning materials and plans, and will support them as they roll out those plans.
In addition, we have suspended all of our field programs and courses for the time being, and will provide updates as circumstances change.
In this unprecedented moment, we have compiled a list of resources that we hope is useful to our students, families, staff, teachers & alumni who are experiencing the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak in New York City. These resources will continue to be updated as needed. If you feel that a critical resource is missing from this list, please reach out. Now more than ever — we are crew, not passengers.
