Welcome to the Second Annual Virtual Crew Olympics!

This spring, NYC Outward Bound Schools invites Crews from around the network to participate in the second annual Virtual Crew Olympics. We’re also eager to announce that the city-wide finals will be a remote but synchronous event this year, bringing back the tradition of gathering Crews from across the city as a broader NYC Outward Bound Schools community! This year’s synchronous Olympic Finals will take place on May 27 from 1-2 p.m.

Each NYC Outward Bound middle and high school will choose one Crew to represent them at Virtual Crew Olympics. Schools with both middle and high schools can choose to have a Crew from each. To help schools select which Crews to send to the finals, we have devised fun, challenging activities that all Crews can participate in, and that will put their connectedness, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to the test!

In response to feedback from last year, we have scaled back the complexity and time required for these activities, so more Crews can participate. Schools can choose how and when they want to complete the below challenges between the months of February and April. By May 14, we will need to know which Crew(s) will be representing their schools in the Virtual Crew Olympics Finals.
