On Tuesday, September 14, DOE Schools Chancellor Meisha Porter visited schools on Staten Island including MAELS, a NYC Outward Bound middle school. Led by eighth-grade student ambassadors Diandra and Andrew, Porter visited classrooms, the school’s “Mindful Space” room, and also had the opportunity to experience community-building in Crew.
