The New York Community Trust Awards Grant to Continue Crew Initiative

NYC Outward Bound Schools is one of 39 nonprofits to receive grants from The New York Community Trust “to help New Yorkers facing the greatest needs” as the city recovers from the pandemic.

The $125,000 grant will help fund the continuation of Crew Initiative, a program that is building capacity to help more NYC public schools implement a Crew program and culture in their school.

In its first year, Crew Initiative provided customized coaching and support to 49 middle and secondary schools that demonstrated a need for growth in the areas of social-emotional learning and community-building.
